Ok so Im looking at a car a couple hours away from me and it looks like a pretty good deal. Its been sitting in this guys driveway for about a year (he gota new car so this one was useless to him). Its a 1987 325is with 172000 miles. Needs tires and the front valence, glovebox, radio, and under drivers side dash panel are missing. The big selling point for me is theres no rust. Interiors in ok shape. Im thinking get a standard valence (not an is) then some euro bumpers and ill be sitting pretty. The exterior is in good shape. Should I be worried about a car thats jsut sat for a while? Hes asking 1800, does it sound like a good car?

Take it to a mechanic for an inspection. Have him do a full check-up, compression tests etc.... better safe than sorry.Erick Mahle | FullOpp Drift | YouTube

there are better deals to be had...
I would pass on this deal.. I got my gf an '87iS is white with nice black interior for $700, it needed a tranny and brake pads/timing belt/other small stuff...

Personally, I'd save and go digging for a nice 318is... unless your heart is set on 6 cylinders. My friend just picked up an almost spotless '91 for under 5 grand, beautiful car with only 107k on the clock.
If you do go with a 325is, there are better deals out there... that car just looks... sketchy.
