Checking out E30 : Body work advice?

So it's been quite a while that I have been looking for the right E30.

    Been wanting one since mid-2010.

However too many are rusted to shit or just are plain slow M40s.

This one didn't have any rust holes underneath that I could find and I did check thoroughly. However, there are a lot of paint cracks on the body.

They are in the link below.

But it looks nice on the inside and maybe okay from 10 feet away.

If the pictures don't work(damn iPhone):

    Opinions?

Would it take a lot to fix all these cuts in the paint and surface rust?

The pics aren't working, but cracks in the paint sound like there is large amounts of bondo underneath. Try touching a magnet to the areas around the cracks. A magnet won't stick to bondo.

Well I did see some rust under those cracks.

So I think there should be metal.

        Maybe a horrible paint job?

Those cracks really look like bondo, at least some of them. The rust may just be bits of rust residue from some metal somewhere, but especially that one crack where its just split and there's only white inside seems to be some sort of body filler. Ive seen cars that are clearly bondo'd and where it's cracked, there still some rust marks inside.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Car has been repainted, cracks are from body filler failing,
It only does that when the dent is filled and not pulled.
            Stay away

              Seriously?

Should I get a magnet and see?

              Man... FML.

              Was this close.

Is it a fortune to fix? With steel.

That split was at the rear quarter panel.

                Walk away?

I'd like a few more opinions.

words of local is that it's just paint peeling off that's too old.

maybe ill just get my magnet and start feeling them spots.

Hmm.. I think I'll just carry a magnet. See whats what and bargain him down. Got to be a dumb bitch once in a while. Spent too damn long waiting on a rust-free undamaged SR powered car.

Where is the location of the cracks? It looks like it is on the fenders, which could be cracking for many reasons one of them being: not strong springs + lots of power + larger tires = lots of rubber when on the gas.

Also, the car is a respray/color change. There is probably plastic (bondo) in many spots. That's not a horrible thing to fix.
