    rear pop out window

    hey!

i just so happened to get my rear passenger side pop out window bashed out and had my camera stolen right from under my nose.

ive ordered a new one but not to sure on how to replace it can anyone point me in the right direction on how to do it?

    the whole window is destroyed.
but the new one is the whole thing (trim, latch, side piece)

Take interior apart and its held on by a couple of bolts on the inner side of the body

First things first. I would take some masking tape and mark where busted window's chrome trims align with the body for this is a great method for realigning the replacement window's.

Next you want to start the removal process by focusing at the B-pillar of your interior.

      1) The coat hanger on the B-pillar needs to be removed by unscrewing the Philips screw. Then take a piece of rope and wrap it around the hook and tug on it to pull it away from the B-pillar. Be careful not to damage the headliner or the B-pillar cover as these are very fragile at this age

      2) On that same B-pillar, unbolt the seatbelt away from it (17mm) nut.

      3) once those 2 pieces are off the B-pillar you should have access to the two 8mm nuts deep within the sockets. unbolt those but be careful not to drop it or you will have to remove the interior panels in the rear to access that area

      4) the window should now be fully released from the body. To reinstall new, jsut redo the steps in reverse.

^^^ That's a real good description. And of course, the latch mechanism at the back of the window. Popouts are ridiculously easy to swap. I had this happen a week or so after I bought my car. It was literally the first "mod" I did.

I had no idea that was a coat hanger on the B-pillar
