e28 steering wheel doesnt work

I tried the 3 spoke wheel from my 86 535 parts car, but the spline seems to be different, like the splines are bigger on the e28. Is there anyway to swap the center section w/o some major modification

can't remember, but some of the e28 models had a diff spline size from the
e30. Don't know if you'll be able to swap centers.

I doubt it...just buy an mtech 2 or aftermarket one

ya the E28's got fine and course splines, not sure when the split was, I believe it was the early models that got the fine. I've been able to put e30 wheels on my 86 528e and vise versus no problem.
