Only makes sense if the e46 isn't your only car. People do it, but imo an e28 m5 wouldn't be a good DD, if nothing else for the maintenance costs. Also unknown miles on an S38 is scary.

I"m DDing my e36 now. E46 is just sitting waiting on me to run through the suspension/breather system/cooling system/etc.

If this was up a year ago I'd have jumped on it. Car only had like 110k on it.
