first off its not an escort. its a sierra, or in the U.S. its a merkur xr4ti. bad ass cars though, there is a guy that was at the track this year with a 2wd(most are4wd) that was running low 11 sec 1/4 mile times.

They are like that from the factory. It's called gathered leather, it's made to look that way on purpose, done with very soft leather to make it more plush. You see it in a lot of luxury cars, my father in law's Lincoln has leather seats that have the same style to them. A lot of leather furniture is also done that way.
