    Seafoam Trans Tune

Today I had a chance to cross off another maintance due requirement. I needed to change my transmission fluid. I bought Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. As I was shopping I saw Seafoam had a new product Seafoam Trans Tune. I have been really happy with the oringinal Seafoam. So i gave it a try. I poured half a bottle of Seafoam in trans and took it for a drive for 5 miles as stated on bottle. After changing oil I took it on a nice drive on the freeway doing 80 to 90 mph with NO RADIO. I must say today was the first day since I bought the vert that it made me smile. I felt and heard the engine and trans working in unison. Everything running smoothly. Previously it had no pep. Completely happy. Wish it was not so cold today because I would have went on a long drive. Also noticed my 88 vert had water drainage holes in the rear on both sides but they were clogged. I unclugged them. No more pints water in my trunk. Today was a good day. I did not ever notice them on my 87 vert.

Things that I have done recently include fuel filter, spark plugs, cleaned mass air flow and throttle body, seafoamed intake and engine, lucas complete fuel treatment, serviced injectors from a memeber on board and mobil 1 in diff.

Next on list will be to change my sloppy suspension and I am having a problem with the throttle body position sensor. I am going to buy a new one and just install it.

Now that you washed off your clutches and going to swell up your seals, have fun with a slipping trans in the future due to a miracle in a bottle.

Well if that happens then the s50 swap will come sooner. I will keep an eye out on that and report back. My trans oil was really black. I knew that seafoam would liquidfy the oil more and cleanse the trans. I did not want to use a complete flush so seafoam seem to be a better choice at the time. Then for better protection I went with synthetic mobile 1. At the moment do not rain on the parade :-D

i love that people think that seafoam is anything more than a bunch of solvent in a bottle

                lol

now under my reasonable circumstances of thinking it has done the job i want it to do. my auto.... again my auto has 165,xxx. it was shifting when it should but not very smoothly no pep. now i could have drained the fluid and put some cheap trans fluid in. drive around for a few days and then drain and put in some good fluid. I will not have an automatic in this car for another year. so right now it doing what I needed it to do. now if my m20 or any car i have has low milage then i would do nothing but change the oil. Its funny but the gas we use damage our cars.

It does SOMETHING, but it's not the end all cure by any means. It's not what people hype it up to be.
