Leaving for Munich in March, rules for transporting parts to the states?

Like the title states, would like to bring back some parts from some junk yards overseas, anyone done this? Will I get hassled at customs for a bag full of stuff like that??
If the declared value is less than a certain number you should be good. I think its like $700. Problem is that you can't bring too much back before the bag you are carrying gets too big and then you have to pay for excess baggage....

Depends on the airline. When I flew back from London on British Airways I was limited to 2 bags and either one could not exceed 70lbs. The fee for going over that amount was greater than if i sent packages via FedEx.

Yeah all I brought back was euro grills, really. And some other small things. I also wanted to go nuts but didnt have the resources and/or knowledge of the junkyards or anything. Having a 2nd chance ths summer when I go for the World Cup. "DEUTCHLAND!..........FUCK YEAH!!!"
Weight is the big thing on airplanes. They fuel the airplane once they know how many passengers are onboard for proper weight/balance. I work in aircraft, and trust me, it's a big deal. I just completed an biz jet that was for the FAA. They were going to add equipment in the forward part of the plane, so in the mean time, we had to add big gaudy ballast boxes to balance the plane. In fact, when we get empty planes flown to us (green airplanes), they usually have big rubber balloon-type ballasts filled with water in them. I've had co-workers tell me about places they worked at where they weren't paying attention to all of the weight they were taking out of the plane when clearing it out, and a guy would walk out of the front and the whole plane would tip backwards and hit the tail on the ground.
I just flew back from Frankfurt on United first week of January. You were allowed 2 bags of 32 kilos (70 pounds) but now it is only 25 kilos (a little voer 50 I believe. Check United's site). For US Customs, from Germany you are allowed $800 worth of goods without paying duty. ABove that, you gotta pay.
For you guys who come over and have some spare time, look me up. Saturday I hit 8 junkyards with my parts guy looking for stuff. Granted they were no where near Nurenburg or Munich or any of the big cities for that matter...... But you get what I'm talking about.
Plus if you find something really cool and its small enough I might even be nice and mail it for you via USPS.
Thanks for the info guys I really appreciate it, I plan on getting some stuff for the E30 as well as my 4000 quattro and the XR4Ti, looks like I gotta go duffle bag shopping!
On a side note, how far is Nurburgring from Nurenburg or Munich, I am trying to plan something to try to get to at least the BMW museum in Munich and Nurburgring....
