        Just found a 91 318is only an hour away from me. Hopefully gonna test drive it today or tomorrow. If all is well, might just pull the plug and do it ... Will keep y'all posted. Cheers.

            They're both nice, but IMO, more important than engine is getting some nice sport seats, the LSD, and of course, a car that's been well maintained.
            I love my 318is, but all else being equal, I would choose the engine with more power, smoothness, and torque.
