Just bought a 318is in Vancouver, but I can't get it registered here in Ca yet, because it only has kph on the speedo. I was hoping I could just mock up a sticker with mph on it in illustrator, and stick it on for the purpose of getting customs to approve it. Could someone measure the diameter of their speedo for me? Even better could someone measure the size of the kph numbers on their US speedo?

Do you have another e30? Swap the speedo over or find a local who's willing to swap for a couple of hours. Can't help with measurements as I'm lazy, but a speedo swap is pretty easy1990 332i, 4 door

Thanks guys. I was actually just planning on putting a sticker right on the glass, to get it passed, then ripping it off, but now I'm thinking about a more permanent solution. I can't find any vinyl stickers with kph on the big ring, and mph on the inner ring, so I think I'll just make my own inner ring overlay in mph, and add it to my kph speedo. That way, I don't have to change clusters, and lose my working low mileage (or kilometer-age?) odo, I pass customs, and I don't have to remember quick conversions from mph to kph.diamantschwarz 1991 318is
