    E 30 Bauer convertable

I have the opportunity to buy a 1986 E 30 Bauer convertible that has had a s14 engine installed. Any thoughts as to desirability, value, etc??
seller wants 12K - car is completely restored with new interior, new paint, etc.
    thanks

even with an s14, 12k sounds kind of high. gotta have photos to make a decent judgement. baur's are cool but opinions about them are mixed. as rare as they are, they have a following but it will never reach the status of an m3.

Baur are the worst thing to happen to BMW's.

I would definitely try to talk him down but 12k for a Bauer with an S14 sounds like a pretty reasonable price actually.

$12k sounds high for a Baur.

....but with an s14? Ehhh....I'm on the fence.

I'd probably take the s14 out, sell it to a guy with an M3 or 2002, and slap an s52 in there.

I would like to see some pics of said car in OP.

I think its reasonable if it still has all the proper euro bits. I know some of these in the state have been federalized and now have diving boards.

I have only seen 1 baur with DB in the years in e30s. Most have euro bumpers and awful side markers. I am one that really likes these cars. The only car that I would keep an S14 in is a 2002. To each their own for whats its worth but not much of a market for them.

Only mention the diving boards because my friend owns one that has them... Could be the one you have seen, but maybe not.

Baur's are cool, S14's are cool, but I don't really see the two together being desirable.
