    Just joined

Hey all, I just joined this evening because this seems to be the place for e30 everything! I've been a bimmer guy for quite a while and currently own a couple of e28's and an e46. I am considering an e30 vert nearby that seems to be (according to pics and description) a nice car that the owner wants to trde for one of my 5's. I am giving it serious thought although it needs proper wheels/ tires and susp to be completed the way I'd want. Wondering what I might spend on good condition used billy sports and H&R combo. I have a set of wheels picked out and I just want to budget correctly to be sure I'm not making the wrong decision. Thanks for any help you might offer.

Thanks for the heads up, great thread. It has firmed up my choice for the H&R race springs and billy sports. I like the ride height and look a lot. Saw "BrickWhite"s car on CL and then here. Love that look with the Ronal 15's. That's what I'd be looking for overall.

Get e90 drop hats for the front(search, there is a thread about it). Then buy e46 m3 rear shock tower mounts, direct fit and fix the issue of stock mounts.

I'm afraid the drop hats will lower it more than I'm looking for. What do the M3 rear mounts offer? Is it too basic just to do the springs and shocks/ struts?:o

Welcome to r3v. It's worth ir to buy all of the other little things, like new drop hats and mounts because the cost isn't that much more significant and there really isn't any extra work since you will have everything apart. Also, if you are getting H&R Race, then don't worry about drop hats, you won't even notice it.

The E46 RSM (rear shock mounts) are beefier than the stock ones, which fail occasionally.

                  Welcome to the forum!

The drop hats even out the reverse rake. I believe they cost 25 bucks?

You will have "reverse rake" without the drop hats!

Thanks for all of the great feedback gentlemen. This is exactly the info I was looking to get and knowledge to gain! If this comes to fruition, I will certainly be here looking to purchase this stuff from one of you or somewhere you recommend. As of now, it is still up in the air and now a new prospective Buyer has entered who might want to take the 5 back to Texas! We'll see what happens over the next week or so.

Again, much appreciated for the quick, helpful, and welcoming responses!
