Why not try welding two springs inside of each other? Like dual valve springs?
Guess i wont do it!

I've driven my e30 when my brand new RSM's blew and rode home just on springs. Can't say it was very fun doing so. Was literally bouncing with every little bump!

Yeah, or he could just be cruising when the spring gives, both springs could go at one time and the ass could drop and all he gets is a bump and everything is cool. Or (most likely) the springs could go at different times. If he is at speed when one side snaps it could send the car into a slide and cause who knows what kind of harm to him and other people on the road.
Dis right here.
Or they could, you know, break when they're loaded up going through a corner, then wheel rate goes to infinity, and you spin into a crowd full of children.1991 318i SOLD

This made me laugh... Out loud a little bit.Seriously? yes it is a bad idea, but i know some people do cut springs and i have seen people welding a cup area to the rear control arm like an e36, i just thought that i would try something else by welding that tail back on. If it fails and brakes.. oh well cant do anything about it. I dont need these. I already have different springs/coilovers on.

I just don't see what the big deal is, if i'm not going to be using them. Im just trying something out with some springs i don't need to see what happens and how it does. No ones getting hurt if i'm just driving around the neighborhood a couple times to see the how it feels/handles. If they break its not a big deal. who gives a fuck! i don't need them anyway. IM NOT USING THEM! i have coilovers on! People cut springs and i was gonna try this to see what happens.1991 318i Slicktop - Sold
