I honestly hate the word stance. That is for kids that lower beyond use. Yes mine is low...but it is purpose built. Wide tires that meet OE height specs, zero rubbing and enough clearance to daily drive in NY.

I almost got rear ended by one yesterday, literally inches from my bumper because he was trying to be all F&F on Dodge. Halfway tempted to reverse my crap dd Honda right into his ghetto primed fiberglass front valance..........

I have no problem with gearheads stancing their cars, with coilovers, and driving a modified car that is also quite low. I can respect these people.

Yet here in Montreal, practically every summer day I'll see an MK1/2/3/4 or 5 Golf with bags sitting less than an inch off the ground with no engine mods, or really nothing touched except for bags and wheels. These people, in my books, get no respect: throwing bags and BBS rims at a car doesn't make it beautiful.

Well props to you. I just hate driving around Omaha and seeing all the pretentious ricers who bottom out their cars on our pothole covered streets, and thinking they're cool.

Stanced/stupid low cars are lame, as are stretched tires on wheels too big for the car (read 17s on an E30) The moment the suspension geometry is compromised, the car is stupid low. Yes, my M3 falls in that category and it irritates the hell out of me. I have a solution to fix it, I just need to find the time to take the front end apart and lift it an inch.

Lower than stock is great, more than about an inch an a half lower than stock is all kinds of bad. Never ever sacrifice performance for looks.

I am definitely a stance guy in my own opinion. My car is actually pretty low, but its not stupid low. I would go lower if I could. I know a lot of people claim its hipster and stupid, but I cant help but still love the way it looks. I guess I can slide for it because I drive a cabrio, which wouldnt be the ideal car for tracking anyway. I've always seen it as a cruising car, which compliments the stanced part.

I also enjoy being apart of this scene is because of the people. I've met plenty of intelligent and genuine people who I can confidently call my friends. I will agree that there are also plenty of tards and weirdos who really arent enthusiasts at all, but people like that are found in almost every scene.

I dont think stance is a fad or a phase. I think it will always remain in some way, shape, or form.

you're only going to get so "stanced" in a 4x4 setup and still be functional.

2wd SUV's are different and can look good in the camber is right, the wheels are flush and fill the wells correctly.
