Post search. 1987 325e cat delete head pipe?

My daughter just bought her first car. A 1500$, "great in some ways, not great in others" kinda 2 door automatic 325es.. The perfect first car. But its got a nasty hole at the hanger on the cat pipe.. So this led to a search.
    1. I am NOT interested in dropping money on any sort of 325i header. 2. I know the motor wouldn't benefit.

So I have been looking at stock replacements. UGH. Still too spendy. I would like to ask if anyone knows of a replacement 2 into 1 that has the CAT deleted? I searched for half an hour and found no mention of one, so I thought I should just ask..

The 02 sensor is pre-cat, so I figure someone has to have thought of offering one. It would be a simple piece to produce.

    input?

    TIA

Hello and welcome. Have you called around to local exhaust shops to see how much for them to just put in a pipe in place of the cat? I know some shops probably won't do it. But there are some who will ;)

That was going to be my exact suggestion.

By the cat pipe do you mean pre-cat or cat-back?
      Different strokes for different folks.

Please buy a $100 magnaflow/borla/vibrant cat, and have a shop weld it in. Your daughter will appreciate not smelling like unburnt hydrocarbons and I'll appreciate not being in the downwind path of her acid rain-mobile.

What? 97% of the cars i ever owned never came with a cat or i removed it. I never smelled like the exhaust unless i had open headers or had the pipes dumping right under the car...

You realize those cheap cats are cheap for a reason.... They aren't much better than going without, and the only last 2 years.

I've ridden in many catless cars and they always, always smell like fuel, especially in cold starts and at idle or in traffic.

But if someone wants to backwards engineer their car, go ahead.
