E30 Engine Swap HELP

Hi,

I just bought an E30, 1990 325i Coupe 5spd and the timing belt is broken on it. I wanted to throw in a new engine anyways so not a big concern to me. If anyone knows of a good place to buy a used engine (M50 perhaps?) and a place to get it installed, or if anyone knows how to install one let me know. Im just focusing on the internals on this project for now.

Keeping it under $2,000 for an engine swap is my goal.

Very, very happy with the purchase though. It is brilliant red and is in great shape. No accidents, no rust. Gonna be a great project!:D

Honestly man just pick up another m20 and refresh it, m50 is nice but all that work for a small hp gain is not worth it to me at least

No offense, but if you have to pay someone to do the labor, you wont keep it under 2k for an m50 swap. On top of that, if you cannot do the labor - the swap probably isn't for you.

I can do the labor I just need help with it. I have never done it before. I have a lot of connections (BMW technicians and all..) so its not really the installing of it I'm worried about, its finding the engine. I could just do the cams and gain a little horsepower on an M20 so I would not mind that at all. My question is, where can I find these engines in British Columbia..

A guy advertises on craigslist around here. Turn key m50 swaps, and I believe they are nearly 5k.
