maybe off subject a little but i had 2 rust free e30s shipped to the salty midwest and this is what i feel about buying without seeing...
i would rather inspect and buy a car locally but i feel its safe to buy via the internet because the sellers discription is documented and could be considered mail fraud if the car is other then discribed.
if you think about it what proof do you have if a local corner lot salemen tells you for example the "t/b been had just been replaced" but it snaps after 2k miles because it actually has 90k on it
i know with my 2 shipped i asked for lots of pics and asked many questions via email and copied all and let the sellers know i have copies and it has to be as discribed or it would be shipped back at his expense and in fact one seller showed some minor peeling clear coat which wasnt mentioned earlier

Yeah dude just drive it. Cheaper, safer, more fun--it's an easy decision IMO.The first car I ever rode in was an e30

I thought about flying to the car but it was more expensive. I'll be damned if I'm going to sit on a Greyhound from Carolina to Florida for 14 hours. You know how much fun that's gonna be? Not much fun.
Might have to do the road trip thing but my dad just traded his Civic Hybrid for a fucking Odyssey so that's a definite increase in gas costs.

get a buddy with a truck, rent a wheel dolly from your local uhaul $50 per day. Then you scoop it up and take it back. I would think you should be more concerned about if the car can safely return rather than saving a couple of bucks. The tow truck and repair shop would easily cost you more than the shipping costs.
