clutch master cylinder sucks the ding-dong

Anyone changed one before? What a bitch! The fitting on the end of is impossible to reach. I ended up dragging it into the car. I do not want to do one ever again.

I have :) Pulled it up INTO the footwell area to get a line wrench on the bottom of it. I dont know how anyone gets to the nut on the bottom from under the car.

If you have small hands you can get to it if you unbolt the control arm bushing and swing it out of the way.

Still not a fun job though.

I redid my master and slave with no interior and no engine, and it was still not enjoyable lol.

As hard as it is to reach on a e30.... try doing the same job, but on a e34 535i.

Actually the hard part is getting that stupid rubber grommet aligned, it always hates me on my car, yet on others its never posed a problem :shrug:

I've replaced a clutch master cylinder twice. On my car, I pulled it inside to get the wrench on the fitting. On my gf's car, my little brother was accually able to reach it from under the car. He wasn't having too much though.

I don't want to do it ever again.
