    I wouldn't go that far, but I assure you that if you print the pictures that you were specifically asked to remove in a calendar that is sold for profit, you will receive a letter from a lawyer.

    I guarantee you that in the USA if you are sued for using an image that someone else took, you will be held liable. There is no absolute need to file for copyright protection for each image a photographer takes, he only needs to take the photo for it to be automatically covered.
