    rebuild kit questions (M30 btw)

Ive found a rebuild kit that includes pistons. My question is, will I really need to replace the pistons in my engine? Ill be turbo'ing the M30. I plan on getting an MLS headgasket and arp head studs from tcd anyway, so I wouldnt need those either from the kit. Im thinking maybe it would be better if I just bought everything seperatly.
The kit I found was about $1200. Anyone know of any cheaper kits (good quality though of course)? Possibly without the pistons.

I would save your money. Get the engine apart and measures the pistons and cylinders. Only if they are out of specs would I replace the pistons. Replace bearings and rings. Get the best rings possible, particulary when going turbo. You may want to head over to e30tech for better advice regarding prepping a turbo engine.
