To ///M badge, or not to ///M badge...

I'm trying to decide whether to leave the 325 badge, debadge, or to put the "m" on the back of the touring (post s50 swap). I know purists say no bc it doesn't have a m vin, but it will have the heart :). I wouldn't use the whole m3 badge, just the m.

meh. I think maybe the /// triple stripe, but not the M. But that's all up to personal opinion. It's your car, do what makes ya happy, but just know it won't make everyone else happy.

still a m3 no? M is not specifically for euro spec. just dont get M body panels and call it a M3. its M POWA. not M body panel power.


but badge-less looks clean as always. Its the motor that determines the car, not how it looks. looks are called styling.

His joke is saying all US-Spec e36 m3's are not real M powerplanted because they are m50/2 based engines, not real S-VIN engines. It's ok, you'll get it one day.

if the internals are the same, what would it matter if its stamped with a s-vin or not? If it was not worthy BMW would have done something about it.

They did do something about it, it was called using an engine platform that could pass emissions regulations and putting cams and stroke to it instead of working the real M engine for that chassis to pass.
