My sister traded in her Mini Copper for an Abarth a few months ago and I think it was a step back. The car is hugely fun to drive and you feel like your flying in it due to the exhaust note and ride quality but the reality is that it's slow as hell. My V6 Fusion leisurely keeps up with her Abarth on twist hilly back roads and that's not saying much. The ride, road noise and exhaust get old quickly when driving distances, its a city car not a cruiser. The interior quality of her car was really bad but I think she got a lemon. Lastly is the bluetooth system that only occasionally works with her I Phone 5, and when it does work there is so much background noise its impossible to hear her.
I would say her Mini was better but still not a great car.
I would recommend a Fiesta. It is a much more livable DD.
