    Whats it worth? CL E30

Hello everyone! I'm coming from the Honda world and am actively searching for my first E30. I've been a Honda guy the past couple years but grew tired of driving my 94 EG hatch daily. My youngest brother bought a 2006 335i and that got me thinking about a new daily for myself. Always loved E30's and they are just the right price, typically

I found a 88 325i locally for $5000. I personally think it's too much considering the age and miles but it looks to be in excellent shape. Going to look at it this weekend :D Specs:

    -Rebuilt front suspension
    -New Bilstein sport shocks
    -Eibach Sport springs
    -4.10 LSD diff
    -Z3 short shifter
    -Recaro style seats
-All new brake rotors and pads
    -One year old tires
-New fuel pump (about a year old)
-Rear suspension, front fish eye and transmission bushings not yet installed
-130,000 on odometer but 145,000 estimated (broken odometer)
-Has small dent on driver rear 1/4 panel
-Timing belt done by previous owner

What is the car worth?? I was thinking $3500 tops. Wheels need to be sold, tint needs to be removed, dent should be pulled and fixed...

The dent honestly doesn't look that bad in the picture. Probably a good job for a paintless dent repair company.

Around here that thing would pull 5k. Keep in mind the "E30" tax due to the popularity. It looks pretty clean inside from the pics you posted and seems to be kept up with maintenance wise. I know deals are out there and people will tell you its too much but somone will buy that car if its a clean title so you just have to decide what its worth to you.

Based on what you've described and based on those photos, I would say that E30 would easily get $5,000 or more in my neck of the woods. I've been hunting for an E30 for about 6 months now, and I've seen everything from absolute shitboxes to really pristine stock cars to heavily modified monsters.

I think the answer to the question "what's a fair price for this car" has a lot to do with the supply and demand of the local market in which you're located. Which is true for any semi-rare/semi-collectible "old" car.
Still lookin' for my first E30..... Oh well, not anymore.

Tell him to keep the ugly fucking wheels and bring some weaves to drive home with. That should knock off about 500$ after your 200$ weave investment. Bottle caps are even cheaper..

                    Mismatched headlights? Wtf ha

Timing belt by previous owner...but how long ago? Paperwork to prove it or was it a DIY job?

I'd offer 3Gs and he keeps the wheels and you bring your own

Oooo good call on the headlights. One looks like an ellipsoid and the other doesn't. Funky. Probably broke one

About 25k miles ago the timing belt and water pump were done. He said something about adjusting the valves in the next 10,000 miles? I know M20's always have a tick but what signs would alert me when I drive it, that the valves need to be adjusted?

Pretty sure he's talking about the one surviving ellipsoid.

Go drive it and see... Could be worth $3700ish if strong and tight.
