    Dyno Results. (56k beware)

I had him take it up to 45-46 but she had enough after 4.

The only go fast mod i have is a Dinan Chip.

This was great because now i have a platform to work from.

Coming soon is a 323i head,325i Manifold, 325i throttle body and a full 325i exhaust with i beileve an Ansa muffler. ;)

I will then run it again on the dyno and let you guys know what she's puttin out however i probably wont get around to installing or even buying the 323i head until mid summer.

I hear there is a custom chip for the 323i head after you put it on the eta block if so i most likly will make a purchase but i need to start saving up heh. :P

      I knew it.

I knew something was weird with my car when it rolled out the number 88 rwhp.

Propably not, or that 325is isn't running correctly..

With a bit optimistic 20% driveline loss, 88rwhp equals 110hp. There's definetly something up with the car. Perhaps you should try the stock chip? If that doesn't help, you'll propably see what's wrong when you swap the heads.

Definitely something serious. Have that car checked out.

Considering you ran on a DynoJet, the correction factor to Crank Horsepower from Wheel horsepower is 1.21. Therefore, on your best run of 89.6whp, your engine is making 108.4 crank horsepower. (Ex. On a Dynojet, my car makes 227.4whp....x1.21 = 275 crank HP)

              And you have a chip?

Your engine has issues. 325e's are rated (and make) 120 crank horsepower from the factory.

I'd sort out your engine before slapping on mods and 325i bits and pieces.

i was talking to Jonathon 90 M3 across AOL and brought it to my attention that no i dont have chip since most Etas that are chipped usually make 115 rwhp but of course i didnt beileve him until he showed me two Dyno charts of an Eta on the dynojet with and without a chip. My car is making stock power and the fact now that it is lower at the crank makes wonder a bit since it is very strong running engine and i havent had any issues with the engine since dropped it in the car.

Stu i really do appreciate you bring that factor to my attention and i right now will focus on trying to sort things out with the engine.

My money is going towards a tune up as we speak and maybe that will give the engine new life and i might even throw back in my stock chip.

I traded an Valve Cover for the Dinan and it is a copie and i was well aware of it and i was trusting the guy to send me a good copie of a Dinan and well i guess he didnt and instead sent me a stock chip or even worse a not so good stock chip.

I learned from this mistake and wont make it again, next chip i will buy will be straight from JC. :?

                blah im dont editing this.

You are WAY down on power! It may be "strong" running but it is NOT a strong engine!!

I would remove the chip, spend the $200 and get the dam Jim C, why mess with copies of a Dinan chip? There crap anyway!

Then when was the last time the engine was tuned up all the way?
Valves, cap & rotor, plugs, wires, all filters, base CO set?

I bet you have something causing the engine to be low on power, and the chip isn't going to fix it.

Your cam may be flat, that is really the only thing that can make me thing why you are down around 20whp, and even more torque!!

Your chart is "actual HP" do you have a SAE HP graph? It may be a LOT better!

I dont have an SAE chart.

I have no idea when everything was replaced on the engine as its not the original engine.

I am going to spend between $225-300 on the tune up, There is something seriously wrong with the engine even though its running strong it should not be that low on rwhp.

After i finish the tune up i might get it dynoed again to see if it helped and i will see about getting a comparison to see if the guy gave me a true copie or not.

Anyway i am hoping for the best on this engine and that i can get my 20hp back.

I have my dyno sheet also from the same day along with a short video showing the air/fuel ratio, speedo, and rpm. If someone wants to host the vid that would be great, it is only like 800k and I will work on getting the sheet saved online. Until it is hosted, my car made 138hp at about 5800 and 143ft-lb at 4300.
