early model / none bmw color

Well i'm considering this purchase but i have my concerns. any opinions?
I know there isn't much info and its sketching me out and also i guarantee that they used bondo to fill the side trim holes. He posted it earlier for $1700, i think i could go $1500. Needs interior, says engine is good, but why so cheap? opinions?

Car needs a lot of work. Like tons of little tedious trim pieces, who knows what's missing from the front since its not in any of the pics or the rear for that matter.

I dont understand CL adds that do that? Step back a few feet and snap the entire car. Get the front, rear, both sides, engine bay, and interior. Its simple. Dont waste your time if you don't know 100% what youre gonna put yourself into by buying this e30.

I went and checked out an E30 a couple weeks ago.. Pictures were of very clean looking '90 alpine sedan with fresh paint.

In person it was torn to shreds, interior looked like a tiger had rough sex in it, driver seat leaned in towards center at ridiculous angle, paint was a one day job and showed it all over the place....

To the seller's credit, he was a chill guy, the car had some really good here and there, like perfect bumpers (go figure), but it was very misadvertised...

Anyways --> Op, I would say it's a $500-$750 fixer, if that is what you want. If you want a nice E30 that you can enjoy from the start, turn away and don't look back.

Buying a modded car is never wise if you do not know how it was built. Judging from the wheels I would walk. Buy a stock one for an older person.

                  OP is a grandpa?

Or maybe just trading him for some of his grandpa's style.

OP....that car is a big no. Big red flag (LOOL) is the painted door handles. If an e30 has door handles that were painted over = parts car. Same is true for B pillar trim etc.

                    I loved this part:
"Come drive it home, no tire kickers, if you don't come with cash go get a job. So sick of Craigslist dreamers, it's 2 grand, not 20, wtf!"

So true when I sell stuff on CL, they come and want to put a down payment on 100.00 object.

If the drivetrain is robust, it's got to be worth 4 figures!
I'd look at it fast and drive it fast if it were near me.

Haha thanks to everyone for the replies. I backed off mainly because you all had valid points and i talked to the guy and couldn't understand anything. This car was a basketcase, I really like whoever said to "never buy a modded car unless you know what has been done". I live by that.
