Need opinions on what to do next: Possible Touring

So im in a bit of a funk with my E30; Im sick of the tired b27 and autotragic, and i just dont have enough time with uni and work at the moment to build up the spare m20 i have for it.

Now being 20 im thinking im older and responsible enough to maybe afford something nicer and get a loan so i can get a credit rating for later on etc.
So after dreaming of importing an M3 and realising it would never happen, i found this:

Minty fresh, i love tourings and i am dying for a manual. Its all too good to be true.

Money wise the loan would last 4 years tops which equates to 200 a month or so including intrest based on some of the online calculators, plus once i sell my current E30 for 3-4k it would be even less. As far as income, im earning 400 or so a week (weekend work while at uni in the week), so i dont feel like it would be a stretch. I mean the repayment money would only come from where im currently buying parts for the ETA.

Do you guys recon its worth putting myself into mild debt to get into this. Ive got no other huge financial responsibilities in my life for the forceable future while im living with parents/studying. Plus with there being only a handful of touring in Aus, surely it could be seen as an investment:D

Car hobby, yes. Investment? Unsure. Investment=something that gives you return in the future. If you count the fun, the smiles, and the thumbs up as "returns on investment," then go right ahead. But if you'd expect money back in the future, you need to push the pencil and do some hard computing. I'm not saying that's its not worth it. We don't know what value will E30s fetch, especially Tourings, in the near future. Just saying that if you would want to look at it from a monetary perspective, then grind out some numbers.

So far most owners see the E30 as money pits til of late where value has gone up. How far up and long will it go? No one knows. But for now, its a gamble.

Thats very true. Too be honest, the satisfaction of owning something so clean and abit different would be enough of a "return". All cars are money pits if we are honest, but i guess in terms of me putting myself into debt for the enjoyment, it sounds like you agree.
