    There's no way this wouldn't have been very noticeable besides pulling to one side..


    ...I myself have driven a car with a spring resting on the wheel like that and some quite obvious noise appear plus the steering acted quite weird....

    Had an e30 do a similar stunt one time, spring broke and the fender dropped onto the tire at 40mph or so and a smoke show shot out of the side of the car as that side dropped. It was very noticeable... Made a slice like that within the 30 seconds it took to pull over

    Maybe the salt? But my sister has a 2005 Civic with higher mileage and zero maintenance and it never had this issue. I think it's just this model of Mercedes.

    Trust me it didn't. He brings his car in whenever there is an issue which is why he brought it in when it started pulling a little.
