^Thanks tak. Was legitimately confused by that.
These are very cool. Not what I picture when I think Bertone designed coupe, but cool none the less. Is that upholstery original? yeesh...
Once you own a Volvo, esp. one of that vintage, you'll realize why they initially sold for far less than an e30. The e30 is so much more durable and performance-oriented than a Volvo
BUT if you are only looking for a comfy car that's rather rare, I'd say go for it!
I think I still have some of the old dealer brochures from when those cars were new, as well as their European lineup (340, 360, and the 480 too).
I have owned 3 740's. They are awesomely addicting those motors are easy to crank up the boost to 15psi/300hp on the stock turbos for about $1500 before you blow the auto tranny and cease to have any traction. The red block engines will hold ridiculous power levels. Guys are throwing I beam rods in them and 16v junkyard heads and pulling out 700ft lb and 500hp.
Check out turbobricks for more info. Great cars and the obscureness is part of the mystique, especially a baritone. People trip out when they realize its a coupe.
I like how similar the cars look to one another ....nice to see Volvo using the ideas of BMW, and Masarati from the 80's. I think it's more the e30's influence tho
