There was this big fancy Documentary on how BMW makes the sounds for there annoying door chimes. Theres like a whole building dedicated to the door chime. All those people hard work goes out the window everytime you hate a door chime.

BMW literatly has a guy who all he does for the company is design the tones and chimes for the three makes in BMW Group (Mini, Rolls and BMW). He sits in a room a listens to a chime thousands of times a day, slightly tweaking the timbre to make it a "BMW" sound. I myself thought it was obsessive and hence enjoyed the irony in the fact that this commercial uses a nearly identical sound to that which undoubtedly took thousands of R&D dollars over in Germany to create and most likely trademark.

As far as giving a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffles ... I don't really either. I daily drive an 81' 320is and have no frivolous things like customized ignition chimes, but I still share an interest in the brand, both new and old, and still believe they create the ultimate driving machine.

If you don't have anything nice or constructive to add, keep it yourself.
