    Is this M5x worth it?

So.. im looking to swap my car and i stumbled across this $500 'turnkey' engine with accessories, harness, and ecu.
Is this guy asking too much? I'm also looking into an e46 parts car that i can get everything from. im just trying to decide what route to go.

I would pass, but that's because I'm not a big m50NV fan. If you got it, then decided you wanted to go with an m50vanos, or m52/s50/s52, you'd need to buy all the bits over again.

Yep. I don't mess around with M50 Non Vanos. I'm sure you can find a 93+ E36 325 for around that price.
For all things 24v, check out Markert Motorworks!

Thanks for the input guys. I was just being cheap and impatient to be honest.
I may just hold off and pursue an m54 swap from from a friend's parked e46.

m50nv its okay for commuting and autox beating which i do alot of... power is OKAY, its about the same as a m20 but with tad bit more power and torque but does have a better power band imo but no room for future power unless pulled to be built for turbo. if anything turbo a m52 or s52 for na. im pretty sure you can come across a m52 which will be more ideal if your young and going to keep the car long. m52 has fordged crank and rods from factory and can handle 400hp with arp bolts/studs and thicker headgasket. people have gone upward of 500hp but ringlands are the weak point since they are cast
