On the fence about buying 325is

I have a chance to grab a 1989 325is and I'm wondering if it's a pretty decent deal. I picked up a slicktop 318is from here a couple years ago and I see that prices have jumped for these cars since then.

It has about 190k or so. I didn't see any rust on the car and no dents. It is white but some of the body panels are not the same color. The interior is borderline 8 out of 10. Seats are not torn but cracked slightly. The odometer is busted, AC needs recharging, heater core was good (didn't check all of the fan settings yet). It has a decent system inside of it with a 8 inch sub in the trunk (shrug). Tires will need replacing at some point soon the the wheels need repainting (kosei k1s). It has super sprint exhaust, coils, I saw a strut bar in the engine bay. The condition looked pretty decent. All of the electronics seem to work fine.

The first thing I would do is paint the panels that are off white and patch a few things here and there. Maybe new wheels. Get rid of the bike rack...

He's giving me an offer of $3,500. Seem like a pretty decent deal? I know pictures are worth a thousand words but I have 0.

Sounds a little high to me considering the odometer(which means unknown mileage no matter what they say) and the panels that don't match, but it's got some nice mods it sounds like which might make up for it if it's stuff you want.

Seems like a decent deal if she drives well and drivetrain is strong.

I know the guy so I am getting the friend discount. He wants to sell it for $4k (which I know he won't get). Considering there are cleaner examples currently on sale.

It is a sweet ass ride. I think the next step is to have it inspected. I think it's worth it especially if it drives the price down or completely stops me from picking it up.
