    I put a deposit on this 89 325i manual:

saw this CL add posted here as a NA, so contacted the owner and said this: the ODO stopped at 127K few years ago, he estimated the mileage to be 160K now. Not started since February after being towed in for loss of electrical charge, he said starts right up with a jump.
He had the car painted silver (from sandstone) didn't like it then went to this strange blue... CARFAX came back as CA original car then to CO, UT then VA, no accidents recorded... owner retired military who's moving and don't want to deal with it... picking it up next week.

$550 for the car, $500 for gas and UHaul trailer back to MI... am I crazy?

    NOT RHD, pics messed up

For $1050? Sounds like a deal to me.

    Check the alternator.

I'd say that's an excellent deal.

I was any to say lol
        RHD BREH???

Looks like a good haul though. Sadly, nice PB late model cars are getting harder and harder and harder to find these days

sounds like with a quick review of the charging system (alternator, relay, instrument cluster, power drains, etc) you could have a running late model for around a grand! great deal.

car probably needs all the basic stuff (inspection II) + timing belt/water pump as well but any way you look at it that's a good deal.

Late model 4dr manual is my favorite. Geographic history suggests low rust. Nice find.

Looks like you got the deal of the year on that! seems to have a straight body, just needs to be caught up on maintenance. 550 for that is considered a steal during these times..hell you can't even find a beat up e30 for that cheap nowadays!

Could be a simple voltage regulator. Either way, I think you did pretty well. Given it's history it likely has little to no rust. I have actually been lusting for a 4 door 325 manual lately.

Sounds like a bunch of little things that need to be done, no big deal... I have an 94 325i engine sitting in my garage for a sometime that needs a car.. I'll post pics and progress.

                    thanks for the replies...

                    cheers

thx bro, love the KW sig, drove a T600 45 ton wrecker for 15 years before Graduating and passing the keys down... I've never had an E30 before, all BMWs I've owned were E12s and one Bavaria... I've been lingering on this site for a while and found it very informative and respectful, this should be fun...
