E30 dlc connector to usb for scanning on laptop

I was wondering if anyone had experience with something like this. I want to be able to scan my mothers e34, buddys e30, and other bmws (like my soon to be owned 318 e36). I was wondering if anyone has used something like this, an obd1 bmw dlc to obd2 pin, and connect that to an obd2 pin to usb. Havent really looked into software but I was just wondering if the link above seemed like it would actually work reliabily.

    Thanks

The only stuff I've used for BMW's is AutoCom, carsoft and one of these from snap-on http://www.ebay.com/itm/Snap-on-scan...item257ed520d2 , all you need for the latter to work with the BMW's with round connectors is a cable obviously, and for newer cars you'll need a cable, obviously, plus "keys" as they call them, also available on ebay..

I've used something similar to what you posted but for Opel, OP-com I think it was , also bought from Hong Kong that has worked without problems.. but nowadays it's Autocom that has been working great for all cars I work with.. also bought from Hong Kong.. And that's what I'd recommend, it was 100$, free shipping and no problems for the past 6 months or so, and with that you can scan A-LOT of different vehicles, as long as you have the cables necessary for it ofc.
