CA smog help!!!
Hey guys n gals, have a really close friend and car lover who lives in Kings Beach/Tahoe CA looking to smog his AE86 aka 1986 corolla with a 4AGE engine.. My buddy has ran into a snag.. So I figured I'd try n help put the word out even though it's not a BMW it's a classic and a pretty awesome car. Also I figured some people would understand and have gone through some of the hurdles trying to get they're car smogged in CA. OK with that said here's the info
1. Sticker under the hood "EVAP Emissions details" states 4AGC carbureted
was swapped to a Fuel injected 4AGE
2. No EGR so instant FAIL he will put one one but not sure if they'll consider it a "LEGAL SWAP"
3. He has all the proper Registration n Paper work
4. I've seen the car and it is solid NO rust or clunks ect
5. He has no problem and well equip to trailer it to a spot to smog..
With that said he's hoping someone either knows or does smogging themselves to help him out. This car has been a long project and unfortunately has hit a wall.. He's willing to Pay extra to get him set and cruzing legally.. My friend is a really down to earth chill person I grew up with and known for all my life.. Any insite on his situation would be life changing for him and I would love to help get him up and running..
