I MIGHT be........... MAYBE...... It really depends on how "normal" my car looks by then.

I made one, just get an adjustable thing for the camera, i think its called a head, and some aluminum. and wing nuts
Well, I'd rather buy one designed and sold by a publicly traded company with liability insurance. If the fucker comes loose or impales my neck, I need a deep pocket to go after . . . Or my estate will . . .
I do already have a camera. Not a camcorder, but my digital records kickass video.
I've been entertaining the idea of making my own. I'll probably leave the cost of a camera mount, like the cruisecam, for later. First, I'll make sure my car is ready for a driving school and that I have money to get there...etc

It's 35 bucks.
The time it would take to make a decent one would cost me more than that.
Look, video's are a very effective tool for learning. As stated, you can look at your hands, feet, where you apex'ed, etc etc. If you get one of those hookups that feeds data into your camcorder (MPH and timer, etc) you have a very useful tool.
I use mine on lapping days so I can review my runs later. It's a great way to self-critique my technique (hands on the wheel, driving line, etc.) and I also use it to review the track layout before my next event.
I've DRIVEN that track in my Z car, loved every minute of it. The Z was a bit faster in the straights, but man, I *wish* it could corner that well. That hairpin that falls away and to the right (I've forgotten turn #'s by now) played hell on the Z, it was always either understeer or tail-out...
Trailing-arm rear suspension means you're either rock solid, or you've lifted throttle and are now praying to whatever gods you believe in.
Too bad it's a good 3 hours from here, or I'd be there on a regular basis. Still, I managed to keep some low-end Porsches from getting away, so it wasn't a *total* loss. The woman driving the mid-90's M5 made me feel a bit of a girl though :)
I took your advice and bought a wide angle lens for my Sony Handicam - wow, what a difference! I haven't taken it to the track yet, but after playing with it at home a little, I can easily tell how much improved my track videos will be.

Yeah, my E30 may not have a ton of stright-ahead go, but it holds 70 MPH through turn 2 (the long left-hand sweeper) - and that's on mediocre Yokohama ES100 tires.
The downhill hairpin is Turn 3a, with 3b being the bumpy left hairpin before track out to the back straight. 3b is my toughest part of the track - haven't mastered the proper technique quite yet.
I really enjoy driving PR. The fact that it's 15 minutes from my house helps too. After 3 years of HPDE's there though, I'm anxious to experience some other nearby tracks and get some variety. I'm doing the Novice Skills Day in Bremerton next month, and Spokane and Portland are also on my "to do" list for this season.
