        No, don't buy an e30.. they are old, death traps, no air bags, not safe, stick with the e46 for sure. Tons of safety stuff; which in comparison means e30s are pieces of shit... but if you find one for cheap, feel free to PM me about it I'll buy it.. Wouldn't want anyone driving something dangerous and unreliable.

              I have an e46 M3 and a fairly new-to-me e30 'vet

              I will never ever sell the e46.

              That being said, last Saturday was the first day I really had a chance to go out and really drive e30 in mostly working shape- for fun.

              The difference IMO is that i love driving the e46 aggressively- heal-toeing into turns, letting the back slip under acceleration out, etc- that's when its most fun.

              for the e30 i just like driving it *period* . On my Saturday drive, I took the long way home at least 3 times, before I was forced home by social obligations, and didn't exceed the speed limit once. When i finally did pull into the driveway there was a moment of disappointment that my drive was over.

              that's the thing about the e30... doesn't matter how you are driving, its fun as all hell.
