I'm speechless when it comes to talking to cops when they pull you over.

In most states, cops have to come in on their day off to testify. Had I gone to court, the first thing I would try to do would be fight it by mail, try to get as many stays (delays) granted to me as possible. I know people who have gotten back to back stays up to a year later.

The more chances you have at modifying the court date, the more chances the cop will forget/not give a fuck, thus more chances for you to get out of it.

My dad is a police officer here in Ohio. The way court dates work here are bad ass. When given the ticket, the cop chooses the court date. My dad, along with every other cop I know, pick their 2nd day off and get double time when they appear in court. My dad is guaranteed 8 hours of pay for a court appearance, on 1st day off @ time and a half, 2nd day @ double time.

If a court date is cancelled, and it is a scheduled day off for the cop, they still get their 8 hours of pay (at time and a half or double time) regardess.

My dad ALWAYS makes it off better when court dates are set back:)

man i wish i could keep my cool like that, i always seem to get really nervous and flusterd when i get pulled over... come to think of it, it could have been just the cops i have delt with. Especially this one guy i had....

Me and 2 friends of mine had just installed my new 4.10lsd and wanted to go try it out so we went to my school (because its 2 minutes from my house). and in my schools parkinglot on a saturday night at 11:30, i do a small drift and leave. a few minutes later a friend of mine calls me up and wants to meet up and says to meet at the school. so STUPIDLY i agree and tell him to meet me at the back parkinglot (where there were tiremaks from my drift) so i sit there with my lights pointed right at the marks (STUPIDLY). I wait 5 minutes or so for him to show up... then i get a call on my phone "dude... theres a cop pulling up into the school right now... get outa there" "SHIT". so i know theres nothing i can do as there is only one entrance/exit. so i turn my car and lights off and sit there. the cop pulls up behind me and points his spotlight right at my mirrors (blinding me) sits for 5 minutes and then walks up.

COP: "licence and registration" (no please, or any type of politeness)
ME: "ok" (in a friendly voice)
COP: "what are u doing out here son"
ME: "waiting to meet a friend of mine"
COP: "this late?"
ME: "yes sir"
COP: "do u go to this school"
ME: "yes sir"
COP: "are those your tire marks"
ME: (stunned) "no sir... what tire marks?"
COP: "dont lie to me son"
ME: "what are u talking about?"
COP: "those tire marks right infront of you, your saying to me that they arent yours?
ME: "no sir, i just got here"
COP: *in a angry tone* "dont lie to me son, i know there yours, i can smell your burning tires!"
(you couldnt smell shit considering the drift occured about 25 minutes ago at that point)
ME: "there not mine!"
COP: "I KNOW THEY'RE YOURS!"
*he didnt know shit, he didnt see shit, there is no way he could have "KNOWN", but i got nervous and paniked. and i almost got to the point where it seemed easier to just admit even if i hadnt done it*
ME: "ok FINE, i did it."
COP: "thats better"
*he walks back to his cruser*
as we wait for 30 minutes, 2 other crusiers show up to say hi and leave...
*he finnaly comes back"
COP: "well because i didnt see you doing anything, and your car wasnt moving when i pulled up, the only thing i can charge u with is tresspassing"
*its quiet for a second*
ME: "trespassing? sir, i have never seen a no trespassing sign at this school... ever."
COP: "i dont think your parents will be to happy when they found out what u have been doing with your tires"
ME: "i dont think they will care officer, considering i pay for everything on this car including insurance, repairs, TIRES, and the car itself"
COP: "HAH, we'll see about that"
*i was 17 at the time"
ME: *sigh*
MY FRIENDS: "what about us sir?"
COP: *no reply*
.....he went back to his crusier
*my dad shows up, looking like hes ready to crush me*
*my dad and the cop talk for a while, then the cop comes back to my car*
COP: "you lucky i didnt charge you with out past curfue"
ME: "but sir, i wouldnt have been out past curfue if u hadnt stopped me anyway"
COP: "just so u know, we got a call from the neighborhood overthere *points* that there was a disturbence here, so we broke up our very busy schedule to come check it out"
ME: *thinking - what a load of shit, why did those other two cops show up just to say hi*
COP: "so what ever happend to your friend that u were meeting?"
ME: "he saw you and got scared away, he called me when he saw you driv..."
*he interups me*
COP: "whatever"
*pauses*
COP: "you may go now... strait home that is"

i drove home and droped my friends off (they also got tresspassing charges). wakled upstairs and got punished... alot

Profiling rules. I drive 55 in a 35 all day long in my dads 2001 F150. Never get pulled over.
BUT as soon as I'm doing 40 in a 35 in my black BMW... WHAMO! Ticket time baby.

I've been pulled over for speeding when the cop didn't even see my car! He heard it from a street away. I had been in my town for a grand total of 5 minutes on my way home for Thanksgiving break this past fall. I had been stuck in traffic for 2 hours north of Boston, so once I got off the highway I headed towards backroads to let off some steam. I redline second gear on a completely empty street, and next thing I know I've got lights flashing behind me. He never *saw* my car speeding. He didn't get it with radar. He wasn't even on the same street or within site of me when I was speeding. Damn Stromung exhaust is just that loud. He didn't have shit on me and I knew it. He couldn't even give me a written warning if he'd wanted to. I think that fact really pissed him off. Black BMWs with loud exhausts seem to be cops' favorite targets.

its kinda hard to get out of a ticket when you squeal your tires like a bitch in your bright red (loud) hot rod, even if you didnt leave any rubber, when the state cop is picking his daughter up from school.. although..........

it should have been easier to get out of EVADING when i couldnt find a place to pull over in the middle of town. Probably the slowet pursuit the cop had ever been in.. I think we may have hit 30 once.
darn traffic laws.. oh well, ive grown up now. I dont do stuff like that anymore

I've been lucky enough to not get pulled over at all yet, nearing my 18th birthday this summer, August 21st. I've been out past curfew, but I just keep my car within a reasonable speed, and I'm fine. I've had my dad's Valentine 1 in my car for almost 4 months now (yeah, shoot me :P). He actually asked the other day if I'm going to start paying for it, and he just smiled and shut my door. He'll get it back when he asks, cause he hasn't yet.

My closest was one day when I was crusin probably 25-27 in a 20mph school zone, yeah, yeah, I know. I had been just getting ready to downshift, my friend was next to me, and move quite a bit faster - and there ahead is a cop, pointing a laser gun directly at me. I instantly hit the brakes, somewhat hard, right as the V1 shoots off about a laser detection. I thought I was done for, but was amazed. I made direct eye contact with him too...

Other than that, nothing yet. And I hope it remains that way. AND, this is in a red 325.
