    My 1st E30...

Officially entering forum with a 89 325i manual ..... After several E12s, I turn my attention to the little one that defined the company.. . It was listed here as a "NA CL E30 in VA.." so I jumped on it, rented a Nissan frontier ($18/day) and a Uhaul whatever you call it and picked it up $450 exchanged...

The paint is shit, PO painted it few times with house paint, vacuum leaks, sensors etc... but runs ok, few oil leaks no biggie.. Interior was Ok with a broken tach/ODO (126K, but close to 170K actual).. there is a battery draw while it sits, so finally the multi-meter will get fresh batteries. .. drivers door handle missing no sweat, rear driver window held up by pen (rock-auto).. but SUPER rust free and straight, carfax: clean accident history, CA>UT>VA> and now MI.... that was a fun trip sleeping on the back seat in a parking lot of a turnpike plaza..The car was heavier than I thought...

I feel like I rescued this one from the clutches of a retired but still cheesy very honest and nice man who "tried" to make it nice and gave up... .so consider this the "before" pic...

Make sure to rub it in olive oil to keep a pretty sheen! #pleasedont

paint is bad, I'm trying to figure out what the original color was, pealing back some trim around the jams reveals silver, maybe sand stone. If it's silver then it's getting stripped and sprayed back to original, if it;s that tan color they had then I'll wet sand the blue 1st, get the trim (bumper and side moldings, the stainless around the windows) cleaned up as if they attempted to tape all that shit off before half ass spraying... it might come out good... nut 1st its gotta run right.

I was suppose to get a compact when I put my Tacoma in the shop for front end bushings and ball joints, but when I got to Hertz they gave me the Frontier Keys and didn't charge me more siting they had no other car for me... followed by the mechanic waiting forever on ordered parts. At that point I decided to use the frontier to bring it back, worked out perfect and no wear & tear on my Truck that served me very well for 150k..
