Not double d's...(tho that'd be pretty cool)
So I've been lookign for adaily with the following criteria:
-Cheapish (under 5g's)
-RELIABLE auto trans
-air conditioning
-comfy
-fold down rear seats
I'm consideirng to daily drivers, here's the stats
1. 1999 Volvo S70 GLT turbo sedan. Has a mere 50k miles on it. Been parked indoors it's whole life, and not a spec of rust. Owner has replaced the timing belt and the battery recently. tires seem ok. Asking $5g's. A/c doesn't work well (evaporator issue that's common on many of these cars). On the upside it has an AW transmission, and the engine has been proven to be very reliable (inline 5 white block with light pressure turbo)
here' s the link
2. 1996 INfiniti I30t Has 110k miles on it. produces similar hp, with greater tq than the VOlvo. similar fuel economy too. Owner has completed 3g's worth of work on it including, KYB's at all 4 corners, resealed oil pan, electrical fixes recently etc. (supposigly the repairs came to 3g's). Asking 4.5g's
both cars have FLAWLESS interiors and exteriors as rust is not an issue where I live.
I'm really going for the Infiniti since it's had recent work AND because it has far better reliability reviews online (with MUCH higher mileage). It's only downside is it doesn't have fold down rear seats for my snowboard.
OTOH, I'm leaning towards the Volvo since the turbo sounds FUN, and there's many write-ups online of ppl. upgrading turbo's etc. I'm just afraid of the oil leaks considering the car has sat for quite a while, despite having very low mileage. I also dont' feel like tinkering too much with whatever I get, as I just want it to be a cheap daily driver that's reliable
thanks in advance!
