    Need help finding some Part#s

When replacing a flex disk (Guibo) which bolts and lock nuts do I need to replace?

    Is it #5 & #7
    or #4 & #7?

    or all of em?
Are those the bolts that connect it to the output flange on the tranny?

Im also having trouble find the Rear main Seal (Rear Crank Seal) in the etk.
    I donno where to look.

    its for a 90 325i.

    Thanks,
    Trevor

Numbers 4 and 7 are what you want to replace. You'll need six of #4, but instead of getting new OEM self locking nuts, use nylock nuts, they will hold better. You'll be able to find that at just about any hardware store w/ metric hardware. I got mine at Lowe's, they were $.68 each per pack of 2. I got 10 of them, and replaced the 4 nuts at the rear, also (driveshaft to differential).

The lock nuts are just the #7s. A wise old dude taught me that if you look at the nuts you'll see that one pair of the six parallel faces are jsut a bit longer than the other two. If you set them on a hard falt surface and use a strudy punch to pop them on one of the longer flats you'll restore that nice lock nut function. I've done this on lots of lock nuts on my E30 (Drive train, steering rack, etc.). Coupled with proper use of a torque wrench, I've not had any trouble (knock wood).
      Let's go exploring!

And maybe from now on, you can just turn your underwear inside out and wear it for another day. You could probably also just rinse out the toilet paper you just wiped your ass with, hang it out to dry, and use it again tomorrow. Hell, you can probably even just rinse out the rubber you just fucked your girlfriend with and use it tomorrow night.

Or you could shell out 3 dollars and 40 cents and not have to worry about re-using something that is not meant to be re-used, no matter what little half-assed, back-water mechanic's trick you use to make it "useable" again.

Sometimes you don't have the luxury of a Lowes open. It's a good trick to know.

                Keep it slideways!!

that diagram, Is it backwards? shouldn't the flexdisc and driveshaft centering bushing be on the other side of the vibration dampner? or is my car backwards...

Remove the vibration dampener and throw it in the trash. Then it won't matter. It does nothing.

I disagree, but many leave it out.
