I'm looking at an e46 318i, and wanted to know if anyone had any experience swapping E46's??

    Thanks

Other than having to deal with the EWS, an engine swap is pretty straight forward.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

and the EWS isn't even a problem, just need the instr. cluster, LCM, FRM, EWS, and ECU fron the donor car- or have someone recode the cluster to get rid of the small red "tamper" dot (if that even bother you)

          ^ I've seen S62 in them...
If you have a complete donor, they're easy as pie.
          If not = $$$$$$

The oil sumps do not fit the subframe. This is also why you don't see many E36 with M6x's. I think some of the German tuners (Alpina) made a pan and oil pump but they cost more then its worth if you can even find one.
