    Insurance Value..need some help

I'm looking for suggestions as to where I should look to find proper comparisons to value my 1990 325is with 157,000 for insurance write off value

    Story:
I bought my Is about 3 years ago for $5k with about 145K on it. I have gone through it over the years doing needed maintenance, suspension, and minor mods. Last Friday morning, thinking I was going to the gym, I found my car with a jack lifting the rear and a rock lifting the front and my restored BBS RS 003 16" 4x100's that I had looked forever to find gone. In addition there was a little body damage, but the heart breaker was the wheels. I've gone the traditional route of trying to find them, pawn shops, Craigslist, etc., but no luck. I made the claim with insurance and they came to inspect. Based on the tire/wheel value, body damage etc., they have decided to claim it as a total loss.
In talking to the adjuster with the service they use and the comparables they had, they valued it at $3,200. They have used 325i for comparables, including sedans with autos and I feel they have significantly undervalued this. I need to find proper documentation of what other comparable 325is's have sold for.
I'd appreciate any suggestions anyone has for me where to go or how I should approach this, keeping in mind this is an insurance company that is trying to minimize their loss and will make you prove anything you claim.

    Thanks for you help!
I've added before and after vandalism pics for reference.

wow. sorry to see and hear this.
      questions.
do you have an alarm? wheel locks?

that is mandatory with these wheels in any area. damn 4x100 too!!! ouch. that parking area is suspect. i live in a nice area (counselman and cops live a house away too), neighbors keep an eye out, motion lights, locks, gas shut off and alarm. i am still scared for my e30. gotta get my garage back.

insurance will jerk you unless you told them those wheels where on the car. inreturn charging more on the insurance. also they compare your car to others listed on ebay and craigslist in your area. so you need proof of e30s in your state that sold for top dollar in the last 3 months. if you have maintanance records and condition of interior that will help too for top dollar.

Tell your insurance company that you want to buy the car for the salvage value. You should have the option to take the car and $3500 minus the salvage value.
