If the scammer is a user and he contacted you and never mentioned who he was on R3V you can still let the forum mods know what email(s) this guy is using so the mods can then ban him until your situation is resolved or he won't be able to be part of the R3V community.

What's his user name then? Non R3V members can't contact you through your personal email if they are not logged in...and to be logged in you need a R3V account.

Non-members can not see your personal email. quote: "I allowed 'users' to contact me"

How did he get your email? Your wanted add does not have your email in it for someone to email you.

You're being sketchy to say the least, be truthful.

BAN. only members can contact you. you didn't provide any emails on you WTB. and I wouldn't be haha'ing if I were scammed.

Really? Why can't you tell us what his name is if he contacted you on R3V? It would be nice to know who this scammer is for future dealings.

Should I pay with paypal as non-gift ? what is a feedback thread? do I need one as a buyer?
What I do when someone answers my wtb threads is ask for a picture of the item with an index card that inclues the date, and their r3v username on it.

NEVER send your payment as a gift!

Look into the sellers profile, do a search on sellers handle, do a Google search on the seller in case he uses the same name on another forum.

Never EVER send money as gift on Paypal...EVER. If the seller requests money be sent as gift it should be first red flag. Even if seller has pictures of it..ask for some detailed picture of a certain section of whatever item you're looking to buy, if he has item and is serious about selling he will take picture for you, if he doesn't have item you won't get picture.
