Wait a minute, I think I just figured it out. Check my other thread asking if anyone knows this guy named Peter Graham.

I was emailing him a few days before this "David Shelley" guy contacted me, only I didnt fall for Peter's scam. I bet that "Peter" is "David." that's the only explanation as to how he got my email

Sorry guys I haven't checked this thread in forever. I shrugged it off because I was sick of being mad at myself. Trust me I'm still pissed about it, but I learned my lesson and life goes on. Here's a pic of the email he sent me. No username. Click image for larger version

Exactly! It DOES show the person's username when they email another member through the forum.

The scammer will have a fake r3v account, and a fake email. he will email through r3v and ask the the person with the WTB ad that he has it. And will usually send fake pictures, and ask to send the money wired or gift as paypal. beware.

Bump... Are we not even going to try to look for the scammer on here?

I searched the first email you listed and nothing came back on here.

So what are the other emails that was used to contact you? Let us and the Mod know so we can keep an eye on it. Post the email strings and your paypal receipt. Maybe, just maybe in case I decided to send money to you for your lost.

That's true, though I believe if someone uses the email contact option, it only makes their email known to the person receiving it, not their R3V user name.
