you gotta figure 1k to get it going after purchase price. There's fees, smog etc. and looking at like 200+ for the timing and fluids. I'll buy it I need a new daily lol

Last registered in 2005? It has been doin' some sittin'
I say go for it!
Plus: Deadhead sticker! Maybe find some four-way windowpane in the glovebox!

I see lots of potential. I don't think it is that bad of a place to start for the asking price. Dont let it go to the junkyard or get parted out, PM me if you need to pass on it and the car needs to find a new home ASAP.

It's worth it but you have lots of work ahead of you to get that up to be a nice runner. Cars don't like sitting that long. Looking at fuel flush, rust issues, brake flush, tires, timing belt service, full inspection II major tune, plus unexpected stuff that will need replacing.

Is that... moss growing on the back? Maybe just let it sit another decade and it will run on photosynthesis.
I'm all for saving old BMWs, but it will definitely cost you more than $120 to get it running right. If you have the space, I would buy it, part it out and use that money to buy something better. Those rims alone will recoup a lot of the cost.

Save your money and buy one that won't require you to make excuses to the beezies.

Is this 1989 BMW 325i E30 worth it?
Hey guys, I'm new here! I came here for help because I have an opportunity to get a 1989 BMW E30, 325i to be specific. It's a red coupe, 5 speed, tan/white interior and has 147K miles. The guy who owns it is an old Co-worker of my dads, as it was his first car. Never been in an accident. A list of upgrades done to it:
Dinan Chip
Bilstein HD stocks
Eibach Springs
15'' Wheels
White Leather M-technic front seats (recaro)
Now for the bad. I can get this car for around $300-$500 because:
It has been sitting for 6+ years
no fluids drained but has had an oil+filter change 1 year ago when he tried to crank it. it didn't start but he suspects it has no gas.
Needs timing Belt
Probably needs water pump
Needs paint (however this isn't a big deal to me)
Interior has seen better days (cracked dash)
Should get brake fluid change+bleed
Is it worth it guys? I'm mechanically inclined and can do most of the repairs myself, been working on cars before I could drive. Parts might set me back a little over $120. It's located in Marin, CA and i'm in Sacramento, CA.
