    Grey market 323 Baur

My buddy has been looking for a nice E30 for awhile and found a pretty clean grey market Baur. I'm pretty familiar with e30s and feel comfortable looking the car over for him. Are there any quirks with the 85 323 Baurs that could cause issues later?

euro specific parts aren't going to be easy to get over there. The Baur part is a preference thing (I think they look terrible) some love em though. I would look for rust where the top was done when it was new.

I agree it's a funky looking BMW but I'm not driving it. His last name is Bauer so I think that might have something to do with it. Thanks for the info!

That and it's a Early M20 so parts are not common, a swap to a m20b25 is a better option if the b23 dies. The 731 head is desirable for m20b27 to make it an 327i.

We are going to check it out tomorrow. I'll post back with what I find out. It sounds like its been well maintained throughout its life. Any idea what a fair price is for one of these? The pics he sent me look great, shiny paint, decent chrome etc

We test drove the Baur today and I'm not impressed. It has a Pfeba ground effect kit which is pretty cool. It's been repainted and there are a few issues with the paint. It needs a wheel bearing or two and I'm sure there are other things hiding under the surface. The asking price is $7900 which I think is way high.

            Thanks for the input guys

The best part was the original 15" "Alpina" spare with Goodyear tire in the trunk. Too bad it doesn't have the whole set on it

Call me crazy... I really like that! Price seems kinda steep though.

I'd say that's damn near top dollar for a mid range condition car.

I'd rock it for sure, and I'm not a huge fan of the baur look.
