Traded in our A4 for a...

We needed a larger car since the A4 was feeling a bit small so we got a Touareg

I love how practical this thing is. I do wish it was the turbo diesel but we will save that for the future.

Enjoy your stay in the VW service dept waiting room. Bring a good long book, you're going to need it.

        This.

We have a customer with a Turdegg. Always some weird issue with it each time he brings it in. Never anything straightforward.

every car/truck has its issues, I just picked the one with the least considering the alternatives. Its slightly used and has had no issues in the past year.

Im sure we will be fine.

Just one customer? sucks for him...at least there isn't a line of them qued up for issues I'm sure.. I do see bias from dealer techs because they only see the cars/trucks that have issues. They all tend to dislike the brand they work for ;)

This is true lol. The guys at the dealer did have some dislike for them. Probably because nothing was an easy gravy train fix. This one had problems with the transmission or something. Always throwing codes and going into limp. I forget what the fix was. Hasn't been back for a while though lol.

I've always like the Twaregs. I like the Tiguans, too. They are nice looking vehicles.

Ha, the toureg did just win the "cravaners" award on a recent top gear. Great episode if you want to see a cx5 race off road against a toureg with a camper hitched on the back of each.

Bummer on not getting the tdi...has to be harder to find decently priced.

I got to drive a V10TDI here in Dallas once. Older but oh my sweet eight pound three ounce darling baby Jesus! I've been in love with them ever since. Heavy trucks but that v10 ain't no bitch! You hit the gas from a dead stop and it felt like either the ground was assuming a fetal position or the damn thing suddenly shed all its weight out it's ass and was about to embark on a journey to the moon.

Of course people that work at a dealer are going to hate the cars they work on; all they are going to see are the ones with problems. Not to mention that Audi and VW are at an all time low for warranty issues, I think he made a pretty good choice. I have often contemplated ridding my X5 for a TDI.

Coworker has a tdi fantastic car until 100k then it went to shit. Whole computer conked out. Then started throwing codes weekly for the exhaust system...... Like you guys said nothing was an easy fix but a damn nice ride when running.. Eventually she got rid of it.
