Damn Vector-Valued Funtions! Calculus & Physics Suck

I just gotta let out right now how I feel about my two classes right now. They suck. The velocity and acceleration of vector-valued functions in calculus, finding A(t) and A(N), it sucks......they take a while to work. If only I was still doing volume by shells, Kris, that stuff is easy compared to this crap. :?

And Physics is talking about electrical field potentials...... I hate homework.......

What do you hate in school?

I can't wait to graduate, so I can take a good 9 week break from this crap!

    Tell me about it.....

I'm right now in Pre-Cal doing some Trig crap...... can't imagine what Cal will be like

I also hate calculus. It's the only class at school I despise.

It only gets better. I am in my Sophomore year in college and have complete Calc. 1, 2, and 3. I am now in Differential equations (boring) and Physics Mechanics. A few more math classes and I could get a minior in math. :D

I dont think i want to take calc next year.

          I hate precal and physics

calculus based physics is a different ball game compared to "regular" physics. I was on the AP calc course at our school (first symester Honors Intro to Calc, first 10 chapters or so) the 2nd symester is what you get the AP credit for...I just took the first part and made a C....i never did my homework though....the problems just take practice...I

I never took precalc, thus I hate calc all the more.

Which semester calculus is that? 3?

3rd semester is supposed to be the easiest one. It's calc 2 that's kicking my ass. Last test avg was a 52%, I got a 44%. No curve.

I'm in Diff Eq and Mechanics, too. Diff Eq is supposed to be one of the hardest math classes here, at least of the ones non-math majors have to take. The other day, my prof used the longest math name I've ever heard: "constant-coefficient, homogeneous, linear, second order differential equations."

Word up. 3rd semester in High School. Should make college easier tho. It's not easy, imagine dealing with 3D vectors and then take the deratives,. then finding the cross product of a and v......it takes effort.....which I don't have.

If I could just go back to the easy days of "plug and chug" I'd be awesome. I hate when you have to think about math. It should be put #'s in the calc.

I just finished my Calc. homework, and now moving onto electronics in Physics, not hard, but not easy nor fun.

I **think** I have to take the next level of Calculus (3 & 4) which I'll have a head start on, and then diff equations, I don't know what else then?!? . My mother majored in Math, so maybe she'll have some advice about how to get grades in college math courses, or studying. (Dad too, ME major).

Call me crazy, but I like Calc. I'm also a ME major.

For me its the GE stuff thats pain. It's easy as hell, but annoying and I always get lazy in them because I'm not that interested.

I couldn't do that engineering stuff, mate. No freakin way.

Yeah, sucks for you Kris. Pre-Med right? And you gotta deal with Calc anyway.
The integral of the flow of blood defines the total volume...... :P

Adam, how do you like ME? I really don't have much trouble, except with 3D, hard to conceptualize. If I can't picture it well, I don't do it well. Like x = sin, y = cos, z = t , without grpahs I don't understand it really. Oh well.

                          Calc 1 = Easy
                          Calc 2 = Hella Hard
Calc 3 = Semi Easy (Very Bad Prof.)
Diff. Equ = Supposed to be the easiest of all of them...

One would assume so. College calc moves a LOT faster than highschool calc. I got As in calculus in highschool, but couldn't manage them in college.
