    Trip gear broke today

My e30 trip meter failed today. Everything works still including adding miles, just the trip broke. I checked it and the gears seemed fine... Any suggestions on why this might have failed? I'm considering just buying a working one (hopefully) from the junk yard and re rolling it to my exact mileage. It still spins about halfway from 9 to the 0 mark again (white portion)... Then goes back to the 9 again. If I reset it it's about every 30 miles gets marked at 9, and after 9 it stops adding. Thanks for the help guys

Also hears a video of what I'm describing, don't mind the music or wind noise. You can see it go from 59 to 60 (ending digits) so millage is still counting.

My trip gear broke, and shortly afterwords my odometer gear failed as well. I would suggest buying the appropriate gear kit and replacing all the gears now.

I hope it is, the gears that fail are 20 years old
