    Roll Cage e30?

Does anybody know of a good place to purchase a roll cage (6point, etc.) for an e30 325is? I'm trying to find one for a reasonable price. Also, if anyone here on the forum that has a roll cage, please post your "experiences". Thanks.

UNHCLL who is a moderator on this board knows a lot about these things.

The Vintage bar is a good choice. If you go with something cheaper, make sure its at least 1.75" DOM tubing. If you put in something less substantial, it won't be eligible for anything (like SCCA solo) so if you ever go that route, you'd have to throw it out and start again.

Also a good idea to look at some the club racing requirements:

Do you want a true roll cage or a roll bar?
Is the car a daily driver or a track only vehicle?
What is the primary function of the car and your desire for the cage/bar?

Let me answer that. I want a true roll cage.
The car is somewhat a daily driver
The primary function is to stiffen up the car, and somewhat protect me(on the track of course).

Lemme be the first to hop in and say "true roll cage" on a daily driver is a baaaad idea.

Think about where those bars are in relation to your head. Do you wear a helmet on the street? If you get into an incident on the street, your head gets splattered.

For now, I'm going to be going with a weld in 4-pt bar on my semi-daily 'is. When it becomes a full on track car, I'll have the remaining head & door bars welded on (6 pt cage built to stock class specs).

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

I know what you are saying, yes I did have a discussion with trent about that. Its just a risk, a big risk. Thats why i was thinking a 4point roll cage, to save my head :)

Just reviving interest in "cage" for group buy. It was called a search, and as you see some have signed up for one. Myself included.
